Sofwave™
Sofwave is a noninvasive treatment that uses ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen production and improve facial lines and wrinkles while mildly lifting lax skin. At The Gill Center in The Woodlands, Texas, Sofwave skin tightening offers women and men a nonsurgical way to refresh their appearance with little to no downtime.
By targeting the skin’s supportive mid-dermal layer without damaging its surface, Sofwave produces gradual, natural-looking improvements in the face, brows, neck, and area beneath the chin.
What Is Sofwave?
Sofwave is an FDA-cleared, noninvasive cosmetic skin rejuvenation treatment that uses Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB™) technology to deliver controlled ultrasound energy to the mid-dermis. The resulting heat stimulates a natural healing response that promotes the production and remodeling of collagen and elastin.
The ultrasound energy creates controlled thermal zones at a depth of approximately 1.5 mm, where collagen remodeling can occur. Unlike laser skin resurfacing treatments that target the skin’s surface, Sofwave leaves the epidermis intact. Its integrated Sofcool™ technology cools the skin’s surface and monitors temperature during treatment for added comfort and protection.
As new collagen develops and existing collagen fibers remodel, the skin gradually appears firmer, smoother, and more youthful.
What Does Sofwave Treat?
Sofwave improves visible signs of aging caused in part by the gradual loss of collagen. It may be a good option if you’re concerned about:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Mild skin laxity on the face and neck
- A lowered or heavy-looking brow
- Loose skin beneath the chin
Because Sofwave doesn’t rely on light or laser energy, treatment isn’t affected by the amount of pigment in the skin. Therefore, it can safely be used on a wide range of skin tones. Our team may also recommend combining Sofwave with chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing as part of your customized treatment plan.

What to Expect During a Sofwave Treatment
At The Gill Center, Sofwave treatment typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. The procedure requires no incisions or needles, and most patients can return to their usual activities immediately afterward.
Your treatment experience typically includes:
- Consultation: Your provider evaluates your skin, discusses your concerns and goals, and determines whether Sofwave is an appropriate treatment for you.
- Preparation: A topical numbing cream may be applied before treatment to help keep you comfortable. We also offer ProNox™ as an additional comfort option during treatment.
- Ultrasound treatment: Your provider places the Sofwave handpiece against the treatment area to deliver ultrasound energy to the mid-dermis. You may notice a warm sensation as the energy is delivered.
- Cooling and monitoring: Sofcool technology cools the skin’s surface while providing real-time temperature monitoring for added comfort and protection.
- Personalized treatment plan: We typically recommend two Sofwave treatments per year to maintain results, though your provider will recommend a plan tailored to your skin and aesthetic goals.
Once your treatment is complete, you can typically leave our office and return to your regular activities without a dedicated recovery period.
How Long Is Recovery After Sofwave?
Sofwave requires little to no downtime because the ultrasound energy acts beneath the skin without damaging the surface. Most patients can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment.
Temporary redness, swelling, or tenderness may occur after treatment, but these effects are generally mild. Our providers will give you detailed instructions for caring for your skin following your appointment.
Some patients notice an initial improvement soon after treatment, but Sofwave results develop gradually as the skin produces and remodels collagen. Improvement typically becomes more noticeable over the following weeks, with radiant results continuing to develop for about 3 months.
How Much Does Sofwave Cost in The Woodlands?
The cost of Sofwave skin tightening in Conroe, Spring, and The Woodlands, TX, varies depending on the areas treated and your individualized treatment plan. During your consultation, your provider can recommend the appropriate approach and provide specific pricing based on your needs.
Sofwave can be an appealing option for women and men who want to address early signs of facial and neck aging without surgery or an extended recovery. For patients with more advanced skin laxity, The Gill Center also offers surgical and nonsurgical treatments that may provide a more appropriate degree of correction.
